2011 1 OZ PURE SILVER COLOR COIN – CANADIAN WILDLIFE SERIES – GRIZZLY BEAR
 
Presented as the second issue of the three-year Canadian Wildlife Series, the Grizzly silver coin is dedicated to the bear known as the silvertip bear, the grizzly, or the North American brown bear, a subspecies of brown bear mostly found in the uplands of western North America.
 
Represented on the obverse, there is the portrait of Her Majesty Elizabeth II. The upper part of the coin comprises the inscription indicating the Queen’s name. At the bottom of the obverse, there are the legends denoting the face value of the coin and the issuing year.
 
The reverse design features the full color image of a grizzly bear with an arctic landscape behind this majestic Canadian predator. Embodying the beauty and grandeur  of the Canadian wilderness, the grizzly bear is depicted with awesome literalism. Along the rim of the coin, there are the legends denoting the name of the issuing country, the face value of the coin and standard of coinage.
