Background information
Coffee is one of the most widely enjoyed beverages in the world, with a history that dates back centuries. Originating in Ethiopia and later spreading through the Middle East and Europe, coffee quickly became a central part of social and cultural life. Coffeehouses historically served as places where people gathered to talk, exchange ideas, and enjoy a moment of relaxation.
The cappuccino, named after the Capuchin monks whose robes resembled the drink’s color, became popular in Italy and eventually around the globe. Traditionally made with espresso, steamed milk, and a layer of milk foam, cappuccino is often finished with decorative latte art. Baristas create patterns such as hearts, leaves, or flowers in the foam, transforming a simple cup of coffee into a small work of art that enhances the experience of enjoying the drink.
