The reverse of the coin depicts a beautiful image of a Maple Leave with a burning background. On the top of the reverse, the inscriptions: "CANADA" – the issuing country, "9999 FINE SILVER 1 OZ ARGENT PUR" – the weight of the coin and the fineness of Silver.
 
The obverse of the coin depicts the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions: "5 DOLLARS" – the face value, "ELIZABETH II" – the name of the Queen and "D·G·REG·F·D" – the latin acronym that stands for: Dei Gratia Regina Fidei Defensor.
