The reverse of the coin presents a beautiful representation of the Half Dome. Rising nearly 5,000 feet above Yosemite Valley and 8,800 feet above sea level, Half Dome is a Yosemite icon and a great challenge to many hikers. On the reverse, the inscriptions: “HALF DOME – the name of the coin and “2.693 m” – the altitude of the mountain.
 
The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. All around, the inscriptions: “ELIZABETH II” - the name of the Queen, “2023” - the year of the issue, “COOK ISLANDS” - the issuing country, “TEN DOLLARS” - the face value.
