A spectacular addition to the Ancient Empires Series, this 2026 collectible round is dedicated to the legendary Aztec Empire, one of the most powerful and fascinating civilizations of pre-Columbian America.
 
The obverse features an imposing Aztec warrior wearing an elaborate feathered headdress and richly decorated ceremonial armor. He holds an obsidian-edged weapon in one hand and a magnificent shield adorned with a stylized solar emblem in the other. Behind him appears the famous Aztec calendar stone, while stepped pyramids and intricate Mesoamerican patterns complete the composition. The inscriptions “AZTEC”, “ANCIENT EMPIRES” and “EMPIRE OF THE SUN” identify the theme of the issue.
 
The reverse continues the Aztec-inspired design with a highly detailed representation of the Aztec calendar dominating the center. Mythological creatures, feathered ornaments, temples, vegetation and a ceremonial skull surround the calendar, creating a dense and visually impressive composition. The inscriptions “AZTEC EMPIRE” and “ANCIENT EMPIRES SERIES” appear above, while “1 OZ COPPER – .999 FINE – 2026” is displayed below.
 
Struck from 1 Oz of .999 fine copper, the round combines high relief and vivid colorization to emphasize the turquoise, red, green and copper tones of the artwork. The detailed finish gives the piece exceptional depth and highlights the elaborate iconography associated with Aztec culture.
With a worldwide mintage limited to only 3,000 pieces, each round is housed in a protective capsule and presented in a specially designed Ancient Empires – Aztec Empire display card.
