The Journey of Odysseus is an extraordinary six-piece collector set dedicated to the legendary adventures of Odysseus, one of the greatest heroes of Greek mythology. Inspired by Homer’s Odyssey, each piece captures an iconic episode from his long and perilous voyage home to Ithaca.
Struck from 5 Oz of .999 fine copper per piece, the six large-format medals measure 60 × 60 mm each and feature spectacular 3D relief combined with vivid color applications. The elaborate compositions, sculptural details and ornate classical borders give the entire collection a dramatic and highly decorative appearance.
 
The six designs portray some of the most famous encounters from Odysseus’ journey:
Island of the Enchantress Circe – Odysseus confronts the powerful sorceress Circe, surrounded by the men she has transformed into animals.
Island of the Nymph Calypso – Calypso watches over Odysseus as he prepares the raft that will eventually allow him to continue his journey.
Land of the Lotus-Eaters – Odysseus finds his companions overcome by the intoxicating lotus, which causes those who consume it to forget their desire to return home.
Cave of the Cyclops – the terrifying encounter with the giant Cyclops, one of the most celebrated episodes of the Odyssey.
Scylla and Charybdis – Odysseus' ship navigates between two legendary sea threats, represented by the monstrous Scylla and the enormous whirlpool of Charybdis.
Master of the Winds – Aeolus – Aeolus, keeper of the winds, holds the famous bag containing the winds that were meant to help Odysseus reach Ithaca.
 
The common Journey of Odysseus design completes the narrative with Odysseus standing proudly aboard his ship, surrounded by dolphins beneath a spectacular Mediterranean sunset.
The collection is presented in an elegant wooden display box, whose interior is decorated with a panoramic artwork inspired by the Odyssey. A matching illustrated Certificate of Authenticity accompanies the set.
