Witchcraft: Medium - 1 oz 999.9 Silver BU - 5 Mark 2026
Medium is the third heroine in Germania Mint’s Witchcraft series. The 2026 Witchcraft: Medium 1 oz Silver BU coin continues the collection dedicated to extraordinary women from Germanic mythology who, through their arcane knowledge, were able to communicate with the spirit world and uncover secrets hidden beyond the limits of human understanding. Medium served as an intermediary between the worlds of the living and the dead, interpreting signs, delivering messages, and helping others understand the mysteries of the world around them.
During her mystical rituals, Medium draws upon her gift for communicating with supernatural forces, harnessing the power of ancient beliefs and her spiritual connection with nature. Her character reflects the mysterious tradition of Germanic sorceresses, whose knowledge and abilities inspired both admiration and awe. As with the previous heroines in the series, she is accompanied by the mythical squirrel Ratatoskr, the messenger of Yggdrasil, who scurries along the branches of the World Tree, carrying messages between its extraordinary inhabitants.
Designed by Mateusz Frąckowiak, this one-ounce silver coin will be struck in a limited mintage of 10,000 pieces. Each coin comes with a Certificate of Authenticity confirming its authenticity.
The obverse
On the obverse, Medium’s eyes are blindfolded, symbolising protection against evil, spiritual concentration, and loss. The infinity symbol on her chest represents the cycle of life and death, while the crescent moons carved into bone emphasise her femininity and enigmatic nature. At her side is a rune-adorned lantern that illuminates the darkness and wards off evil forces. Her belt is decorated with badger remains, symbolising wisdom, courage, and perseverance, while the skull held in her hand evokes mortality and rebirth.
The reverse
The reverse of the coin, crafted in Germania Mint’s distinctive style, combines mystical symbolism with motifs inspired by Germanic beliefs and the spirit world. It features the double-headed eagle, the mint’s signature emblem, while the central focus is a skull surrounded by bones. Two dragons, associated with the realm of the dead, complete the composition and enhance the mysterious character of the issue. The runes featured in the design evoke ancient symbols of protection, strength, and spiritual guidance, completing the story of a woman standing at the threshold between two worlds.
