The Augustus of Prima Porta is a full-length portrait statue of Augustus, the first Roman emperor.
The statue of Augustus depicts a stern and composed expression, with a burly figure fully armed. His right hand points forward, while his left hand holds a scepter. On the right side of his foot, there is an image of Cupid riding a dolphin, symbolizing Augustus as a benevolent ruler. The relief on the muscular breastplate depicts the gods of Roman mythology.
