After the legendary beasts that came before, the time has come for one of the most extraordinary creatures of Germanic mythology – the eight-legged steed of Odin, who traversed the nine worlds faster than any other being. Sleipnir, a symbol of journeys between worlds, divine speed, and limitless power, has been immortalized in silver as part of the exclusive Germania Beasts collection.
According to mythology, Sleipnir was born from an unusual story – he was the offspring of Loki and the mighty stallion Svaðilfari. He became Odin’s loyal mount, capable of traveling between the realms of gods, humans, and the land of the dead, effortlessly crossing the boundaries of reality. His eight-legged nature symbolizes absolute speed, fluid motion, and divine omnipresence.
 
The 2026 Germania Beasts: Sleipnir 1 oz Silver BU coin, designed by Natalia Danysz, will be issued in a limited mintage of 25,000 pieces. Each piece will be placed in a dedicated lens capsule, enhancing the design details and protecting the coin from damage. The set also includes a certificate of authenticity, confirming its exceptional value.
 
The obverse
The obverse of the coin features the majestic head of Sleipnir along with the front part of his powerful body. In this composition, four legs are visible, emphasizing the dynamism of movement as well as the stability and strength of the mythical steed. The sculpted details highlight his supernatural origin, while the ornamental embellishments enhance the mystical, divine character of the depiction.
 
The reverse
The reverse of the coin presents the rear part of Sleipnir’s silhouette in full gallop, where the remaining legs complete the image of his extraordinary, eight-legged anatomy. The dynamics of motion are captured in a way that underscores speed and the seamless transition between worlds. In the background, the symbol of Germania Mint – the double-headed eagle.
