Mother-of-Pearl Clouds, also known as nacreous clouds, are an extraordinary atmospheric phenomenon that appear in the sky in the polar regions during the winter. They are renowned for their vibrant, iridescent colours that resemble the sheen of mother-of-pearl, from which they get their name. Formed at high altitudes, these clouds are created when sunlight interacts with the tiny ice crystals they are made of, making them a rare and mesmerising spectacle for those lucky enough to witness them.
